Hunting is a huge part of my Master’s life. As His submissive I could either consider that side of Him ‘vanilla’, or I could learn more about it and develop skills to become His ‘hunt slut’. ‘Hunt slut’ sounded fun, and it would give me a chance to spend more time with my Master!

With hunting, there are a wide range of activities to participate in. You can stay behind and be camp slut – looking after the needs of the Hunters before and after the hunt – or go out in the field and be a hunt slut – tracking, calling, hunting, or just keeping Master company.

Social Secretary

Whether or not you are going out in the field, as your Master’s ‘social secretary’ you can keep track of the open seasons for the game your Master hunts. These regulations are usually published every year in the spring. For us, wild turkey season is the last Sunday in April until the end of May, and deer season ranges from October to the end of December. I keep a calendar with important dates for Master where I jot down opening and closing of licensing applications, seasons, and allowable weapons. My area alternates in deer season with a bow one week, and muzzle loader another, so it’s very important to keep close track! The other advantage to having this calendar is that when parties or munches are announced you can quickly check to see if there is a conflict (and with anything in His vanilla life if you are keeping track of that also). My Master will always choose hunting over partying, a fact that is difficult to fathom when standing out in the cold and wet, waiting for an animal that is probably off at its own party.

In the Field

How much do you want to do in the field? Are you going to go all the way for Master and handle a gun? Then, being the cautious Canadian that I am, I highly recommend taking a gun handling course. In Canada, there is a mandatory weekend course which you must pass to apply for a Possession and Acquisition License. The PAL is obtained by jumping through numerous hoops, from forms and questions to a complete investigation of your life. My PAL took almost a year to acquire, so this may take some commitment to your Master! With this license you can go to a gun club and learn how to shoot and also purchase a rifle or shotgun, depending on the game your Master is hunting. I’ve spent many wonderful hours with my Dom on the target range learning how to shoot, and my Master is extremely proud of my skill!

There are a number of things you can do in the field, even if you don’t handle weapons. You can track, scout, call or retrieve. You could familiarize yourself with what the tracks look like for does and bucks, as well as signs such as scrapes (where the buck paws the ground to tell everyone he was there), poop, or broken and nibbled branches. You can also read some magazines or internet articles on deer hunting to familiarize yourself with the latest equipment needed. If your Master demands an interesting conversation with His sub at dinner time, a discussion on a new scope or call will be just the ticket to gain the highest praise!

Turkey hunting is actually more fun for us. Even if you are not shooting, you can learn how to call, and look for signs of turkey roosting (tracks, dust baths, feathers). Find a secluded spot to practice the calls, unless you want to have all the neighbors calling the police with noise complaints. One reason that turkey is fun is that you get to dress in complete camo – head to toe. It may not be sexy, but it can lead to some interesting fantasies! During turkey hunting, you need to find a secluded spot where a field and forest meet, and set up against a tree. Then you or your Master call the turkey in. You can shoot only Toms (male turkeys) in spring, so you must learn the difference before you hunt! As usual in Ontario, there is a course that must be passed before a wild turkey license is issued.

Camp Slut

Instead of hunt slut, you may choose to be the camp slut for your Master. In deer season, my Dom often invites another Dom (and His sub if available) to visit for a few days. If there is a group hunting, try to find out in advance the likes and dislikes of Your Master’s friends, especially if they are tea or coffee drinkers. You don’t want to wake a Dom at 5 am with coffee if He only drinks Earl Grey tea. You might as well go out in the woods and start teasing the bears! Hunters will need three good meals a day, although I have to really work on my Master to have more than coffee for breakfast. Being a sneaky sub, I try to stock something enticing like cinnamon bread to make sure He has nourishment to keep Him going until lunch. Pack snacks for the field for rest times. If they are staying out all day, you will want to pack a hearty lunch.

Many hunts start a ½ hour before dawn and continue to ½ hour after sunset. You need to know exactly when dawn and sunset are at the area where you are hunting and adjust the meal schedule to reflect this. Then, calculate back to figure out how long you need to get everyone up, get prepared and get out the door into the field. I always underestimate just how long a Dom will lie in a warm bed drinking coffee or tea, especially while it is cold, raining and miserable out. Subbie will often be standing in an empty kitchen watching it get light out, as the Doms finish off yet another refill under warm blankets. I think that’s because my Dom (and friends) are Sadists who love to torture me.

When the hunt is done in the evening, you may have to clean some of the equipment, clothing, and Masters, depending on how muddy the hunt was, as well as storing the weapons safely. Storing the weapons should only be done by the sub if she is familiar with proper weapon handling. And what if they are successful? Subbie might end up having to help butcher a deer, or pluck a turkey!

Other skills that can be developed as a hunt or camp slut are tanning skins or mounting the turkey tail, beard and cape. It would probably be a good idea to start with something small, like a bunny, and work up to the big game. Besides, I hear rabbit pie is yummy, although I have not yet tried it!

Rewards of the Hunt Slut

Finally, the best part of being a hunt/camp slut – eating the game! The internet is a great place for recipes. FetLife has a group called Simply Food, which has been extremely helpful with recipes for all sorts of foods. If you think the deer may be tough or gamey, I recommend marinating it in papaya juice. The papain in the juice is the active ingredient in meat tenderizers. Internet recipes recommended marinating moose meat in buttermilk to remove the gamey taste, but the cuts my Master gave me did not need this.

There seem to be an infinite number of skills that can be incorporated into either hunt slut or camp slut. Other than eating the game I think I cherish most the time that I get to spend with my Master, being taught new skills or enjoying quiet companionship in the woods. It has fostered a totally unexpected and rewarding side to our relationship! Have you developed a skill for your Master that brings out a new aspect of D/s? Please share in the comments below!
