Welcome, everyone to the first week of another book club here on Submissive Guide. This book club is going to be a bit more free-form than the last one. I won't present questions in the post itself. Use this post as a forum thread and talk among the other commenters. I will be participating and asking questions as well as offering ideas for discussion all week long (until Week 2 post). Let's see how long we can keep the discussion going!

Today we'll be talking about the introductory pages - page 33 of the book. If you've read along, please participate. This is your time to talk about your experience reading the chapters for this week.

As a refresher, the chapters are:

  • Background and Introduction of the authors
  • Let's Get Started
  • What Does Living M/s Mean?
  • Difference Between Abuse and Power Exchange
  • Different Styles of being Master and slave
  • Different Types of Slaves

As an ice breaker, please share your favorite quotes, thoughts or impressions on these beginning pages. Terminology happens in almost every BDSM related book. Are there any new words or definitions here? Think about the differences you can note about M/s vs. other power exchange relationship dynamics. What do you think about them? Remember to visit this post all week long for more conversation and discussion on the topic.

Next Week:

We'll be reading pages  34 to 73 (Chapter - Being a Slave). See you then!
