Good article. Here is a twist on this issue.

When person A expresses an interest in person B, that gives person B a sort of power over person A. Person B then can use that power to accept person A’s attention or not.

What I mean is that by person A approaching person B, that is consistent with submission of person A. Person A is giving person B some power.

The situation is different if person A is overly-aggressive or pushy, but that’s not the issue here.

Before BDSM entered my life, this is one reason why I was very shy. I didn’t want to give someone power over me by putting myself on the line to introduce myself and express interest.

I am a prospect to a recent D that I met online. He wanted us to be comfortable selling and me fully understand some of the things he likes to do. He has recently told me that if I want him to start my straining I would have to send him a video of me presenting myself to him begging him to train me and show him why I should be allowed to be trained and my best qualities. I had a D before him but I never ha to beg in this way and I am not sure how.

I met my Dom at a munch that I was practically dragged to (I met a guy at munch A and his friend wanted to go to munch B the same night, so we went together). As soon as we sat down, I noticed him because he bore a striking resemblance to a past sex partner and it freaked me out. We stared at each other for about an hour until he came to me and I introduced myself and told him about the resemblance. Bad move, but he had a great sense of humor and we exchanged contact information. We started talking as friends because I really wanted to know him and I didn’t think he would like me in another way (he is cute and sweet and I’m passionate and brassy), but he asked me lots of questions, he said he wanted to know my thought process, and we’re together since then.

Considering that I really didn’t want to go to the munch in which we met, I am thankful that I went.
